Meeting other dogs on the leash

Another dog is coming towards you, and yours is already pulling on the leash? With enough distance and a small curve, encounters stay relaxed.

On almost every walk, you'll meet other dogs. For many dogs and their people, it's the most exciting moment of the whole walk. Such encounters stay calm above all when you react early and give your dog enough space. Because your dog usually shows you well in advance how they feel about the other dog.

The comfort distance

Every dog has a distance at which they still feel comfortable with an approaching dog. This distance is different for every dog and can vary from day to day. A walk is not a test of how close you can get. Plan your route so your dog can stay relaxed, and be generous about giving way.
