Does my stress rub off on my dog?

Your dog notices right away how you're feeling. Why your tension rubs off on him – and your calm gives him security.

Yes – and more often than you'd think. Dogs are masters at reading our moods. Your dog can tell from your body language, your voice and even your smell how you're doing right now. So your tension really can transfer to him – for better or for worse.

Feelings are contagious

When you're stressed, hectic or anxious, your dog notices immediately and often becomes restless himself. Especially in situations he can't judge on his own, he takes his cues from you. Your nervousness tells him: something's wrong here, better watch out.
