The rule
For dogs kept in Vienna, liability insurance of at least € 725,000 for personal injury and property damage must be taken out and maintained (§ 5 Abs. 11). The requirement applies to all dogs born after 1 January 2006, and to dogs subject to the dog licence requirement regardless of age (§ 15 Abs. 1).
