Summary
Dangerous dogs, set by the municipality
The rule
The Dog Act has no general leash requirement for all dogs; a dog established as dangerous in an individual case (§ 3 Abs. 3) only has to be led on a leash and with a muzzle until the decision on the permit application (§ 5 Abs. 2), and after the permit the statutory requirement no longer applies (§ 11 Abs. 2 repealed, valid from 01.03.2016). The authority can take the necessary measures under the Public Safety and Order Act (SOG LSA) (§ 14 Abs. 1), and the regulatory authorities can ward off dangers from dogs by ordinance (§ 14 Abs. 2).
