How chronic stress makes dogs ill

Constant stress burdens not only the nerves but also the stomach, gut and immune system. Why ongoing stress can seriously harm your dog.

Short-term stress is normal and useful. But if it persists, it becomes a real health hazard. Chronic stress puts strain on your dog's whole body and can promote or worsen physical illnesses. That's why it's worth taking lasting strain seriously.

The stomach and gut suffer

The digestive tract reacts particularly sensitively to stress. Diarrhoea, vomiting, loss of appetite or flatulence can be the result. Constant stress even alters the gut flora and is considered a risk factor for serious problems such as intestinal inflammation and, in large dogs, the dangerous gastric torsion.
