Hands off these training aids

Electric collar, prong collar, spray collar: aids like these are harmful – and banned in Switzerland. Why fair training is the better way.

Some aids promise quick results by inflicting pain or a fright on the dog. You should definitely keep your hands off them. They harm your dog, destroy its trust and are, for good reason, banned in Switzerland. The Animal Welfare Act prohibits aids that cause pain or set frightening stimuli.

These devices are taboo

Explicitly banned are, among others, prong and coral collars, electrifying devices such as electric collars, and chemical spray collars, including those triggered by barking. Also clearly to be rejected are throw chains, rattle tins, training discs and correction sprays. They all work through fear and discomfort.
