The rule
The S.LSG has no breed list. A dog counts as dangerous if the municipality establishes this after an examination in the individual case, for example because it has bitten people or animals or shown excessive aggressiveness (§ 19 Abs. 3). Such a dog may only be kept with the municipality's approval; it must be applied for within ten days (§ 19 Abs. 1).

- Approval only with reliability, personal suitability and extended competence, a passed temperament test, permanent marking of the dog and liability insurance (§ 19 Abs. 4); outside buildings and enclosed land, lead the dog only personally or through suitable, familiar persons, carry the approval (§ 24).
