The rule

The dog tax is a matter for the municipality, and the Dog Act presupposes it: registering the dog also counts as registering for the dog tax (§ 15 Abs. 3 Satz 2), the dog register provides information for collecting the dog tax (§ 15 Abs. 2 Satz 3), and the municipalities carry out the tasks under the Act (§ 17 Abs. 1 Satz 1). The Act does not set the amount; see the city page.
