Checking the eyes and giving eye drops

The eye is especially sensitive. With plenty of patience, your dog learns to calmly allow being touched and even to accept eye drops.

Around the eye, many dogs react even more sensitively than at the ear, because the blink reflex makes things delicate. Even so, you can patiently teach your dog to calmly allow a check and even eye drops. Above all this takes time and a delicate touch.

Approach very gently

Always work with a cooperation signal so your dog can end the exercise at any time. Move your hand slowly towards the eye area and reward every small step of progress. The goal is to be able to move and shift the eyelids carefully without your dog pulling its head away.
