The rule
Vienna, acting as a municipality, decides the dog levy for ordinary dogs on the basis of the federal authorisation (FAG 2024 § 17 Abs. 3 Z 2; § 5 Abs. 3 Wiener Hundeabgabegesetz refers to it). The Vienna Dog Levy Act itself only covers guard dogs and dogs kept for a profession or business (§ 1). For the amount see the city page.
