Make your own dog enrichment

Toilet-roll tubes, cardboard boxes and old towels turn into a search game in no time. Cheap DIY ideas that really keep your dog busy.

Good enrichment doesn't have to cost anything. With a few things from around the house you can conjure up exciting tasks in no time that challenge your dog's nose and mind. The best part: you can easily adjust the difficulty to suit your dog.

Snack parcels

Wrap part of the food ration in packing paper, an empty toilet-roll tube or an old cotton cloth. Your dog has to open the parcel to get to the food. For beginners, pack it loosely; for pros, in several layers. Important: only use material that won't harm your dog, and if it tends to eat paper too, only give it under supervision.
