How noise stresses your dog
Dogs hear far more finely than we do. Constant noise is a real stress factor for them. How to provide more acoustic calm in your dog's everyday life.
Dogs hear considerably more finely and over a wider range than we humans do. What sounds like a normal background hum to us can be exhausting for a dog. Ongoing noise is therefore an often underestimated stress factor that frays the nerves and can make a dog ill.
Where noise comes from
Sources of stress are, for example, a constantly running television, loud music, building-site noise, echoing rooms or a hectic household with lots of sounds. Individual loud events such as fireworks or thunderstorms can also strain dogs greatly, especially noise-sensitive ones. We barely notice much of this, but for the fine-eared dog it's much more present.
