Which lead suits what?
Short walking lead, long lead, retractable lead: each has its purpose. An overview of when which lead makes sense – and where caution is called for.
The right lead depends on the situation. There's no single lead for everything, because a calm snuffle round makes different demands than a walk through the city. Anyone who knows the differences leads their dog more safely and calmly, and both enjoy the walk more.
The walking lead for everyday life
An adjustable walking lead of about two metres is the all-rounder. Via several rings it can be adjusted in length and worn over the shoulder. In the city, in road traffic or at confusing spots, you lead your dog on a short lead so you have a good hold on it.
