Taking your dog on buses and trains

For many people, buses and trains are part of everyday life, and dogs are usually allowed along. But full vehicles mean stress for many dogs. With good habituation and a little consideration, the journey becomes pleasant for everyone.

Know the rules

On public transport there is usually a lead requirement, often a muzzle requirement too. For larger dogs you generally need a ticket; small ones may sometimes travel in a carrier bag. You can find out the exact rules from the transport operators; they differ from region to region.
