What a booking costs

Rover earns on every booking: a commission from the sitter and a service fee from the owner. We do not quote exact rates here – no document from Rover itself was available to us, and third-party numbers are too uncertain for this. DOGSY takes no commission on care: price and details are agreed directly between the people involved, DOGSY handles no payment and is explicitly not the sitter's employer.

Marketplace or neighbourhood

Rover arranges care. DOGSY arranges care and carries the neighbourhood as well: dogsharing (shared dog ownership), packs, meet-ups and events, plus the photo feed DOGSYgram. People on DOGSY are not only looking for a service, but also for others nearby.

Safety in everyday life

Poison-bait and hazard alerts, missing-dog reports, the emergency network, the dog file and the map of places with vets, dog meadows and dog schools are part of DOGSY. At Rover these functions were not found in our review of 28 August 2026.

Which one fits whom

If you want a secured, paid booking with payment handling, Rover is the right choice. If you want neighbourhood, your own language and no cut taken from the agreed price, DOGSY is. Using both in parallel is perfectly possible.

Common questions

Is Rover available in Switzerland?

Yes. In our review of 28 August 2026, however, the Swiss version appeared in German only; a French or Italian version for Switzerland was not found.

Does DOGSY take a commission on care?

No. DOGSY handles no payment and keeps nothing. The price is agreed directly between the people involved. DOGSY is funded by business profiles that pay per click.

Can I use both platforms?

Yes. DOGSY ties nobody down and asks for no exclusivity.

How this comparison was made

  • We reviewed the publicly available websites and apps, and every page states the date we checked.
  • What we did not find is called «not found in our review» – not «does not exist». A search without a hit proves nothing.
  • We only quote figures that are documented. Where only third-party numbers exist, we say so.
  • We show no third-party logos. Trademarks belong to their owners and appear as words only.

All trademarks named belong to their respective owners. DOGSY is not affiliated with them.
