DOGSY and Schorsch compared
Schorsch warns about hazards for your dog, DOGSY is a platform for everyday life with a dog. That is not a contest about the same thing – and on hazards, Schorsch is ahead of us. That belongs here too.

What Schorsch is
Schorsch is a hazard radar for Switzerland: free, ad-free and without tracking. That is good work, and we say so explicitly. Anyone who only wants to know where it gets dangerous for a dog does not need a second app for that.

On hazards, Schorsch goes deeper than DOGSY
Schorsch keeps more than 20 hazard categories, among them around 1600 official shooting-range locations updated daily, more than 600 livestock-guardian pastures with geofencing, plus blue-green algae and hunting grounds. DOGSY does not reach that depth of data on hazards.

What DOGSY covers in addition
DOGSY warns as well: poisoned bait, radius alarm and missing-dog reports. Beyond that, DOGSY covers everyday life: care and Dogsharing, community, Rudel and events, knowledge articles, the dog file, the places map with vets and dog meadows, and the shelter and donation section.

Language and area
Schorsch speaks German and covers Switzerland. The DOGSY interface exists in 44 languages, for Switzerland in German, French, Italian and English. For owners in French-speaking Switzerland, in Ticino and for people who have moved here, that is the decisive difference.

Which one fits whom
Using both side by side is the honest recommendation here. If you only want hazard warnings, you do not need DOGSY for that – then Schorsch is the right choice. If you also want care, Dogsharing, community and knowledge, you will find that at DOGSY.
Common questions
Does Schorsch cost anything?
According to our review of 28 August 2026, Schorsch is free, ad-free and without a subscription.
Does DOGSY warn about poisoned bait too?
Yes. DOGSY has poisoned-bait warnings, a radius alarm and missing-dog reports. It does not reach the breadth of categories and the official data depth of Schorsch.

How this comparison was made
- We reviewed the publicly available websites and apps, and every page states the date we checked.
- What we did not find is called «not found in our review» – not «does not exist». A search without a hit proves nothing.
- We only quote figures that are documented. Where only third-party numbers exist, we say so.
- We show no third-party logos. Trademarks belong to their owners and appear as words only.
All trademarks named belong to their respective owners. DOGSY is not affiliated with them.
