Summary

No breed list

The rule

The Dog Owners Ordinance has no breed list: a dog is dangerous if it stands out through breeding, training or conditioning, or through its behaviour (biting without being attacked, repeated threatening jumping at people, repeated uncontrolled chasing or killing of game or other animals); the local regulatory authority establishes this after hearing the official veterinarian (§ 3 Abs. 1 and 2). Dangerous dogs may only be kept, led or bred non-commercially with a permit under § 5 (§ 1 Abs. 2); an application to lift the finding can be made two years after it becomes final at the earliest (§ 3 Abs. 3).

Open points

«No breed list» applies to the Dog Owners Ordinance (the word «breed» does not appear in the enacting formula or §§ 1–13); other state laws not searched.
