The rule
Schleswig-Holstein has no breed list: dogs may not be classified as dangerous because of their breed. The municipality or the office (Amt) classifies a dog as dangerous after an incident, for example after biting people or animals, repeated threatening jumping at people, or uncontrolled chasing or killing. Keeping it then requires a permit; a reclassification is possible after two years at the earliest (temperament test and veterinary assessment).
