Summary
Breed list with 3 breeds
The rule
In Saarland, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier and American Pit Bull Terrier count as dangerous; the Saarland rules do not cover crossbreeds of these breeds. Keeping them requires a permit from the local police authority. The dangerousness of these breeds can be rebutted: a passed temperament test can exempt from the permit requirement. Dogs also count as dangerous if they have proven to bite, have jumped at people or animals aggressively and threateningly, or have been bred or trained for aggressiveness or sharpness; the latter may in principle not be kept.
